Desnutrición crónica en Guatemala

In Guatemala
we have
a serious problem that affects

US ALL

HOW DO I HELP?

We have the highest

chronic malnutrition rate in America

Source: UNICEF

What is chronic malnutrition?

A condition that affects all children who did not receive an adequate nutrition during the first two years of their life

Sadly, after two years of age, the side effects of chronic malnutrition are irreversible

What effects does it
have on our children?

Low weight
at birth

Low growth rate

High incidence
of disease

Learning limitations

A malnourished brain cannot develop to full capacity nor does it complete its neurological connections.

This limits the individuals for the rest of their lives and Guatemala for generations.

A problem of this magnitude needs several long term solutions

That is why we are working to
prevent chronic malnutrition

We have been able to impact:

124

Communities

3,993

Women

2,944

Children under five years of age

2,908

Husbands
