Desnutrición crónica en Guatemala

In Guatemala
we have
a problem that affects

US ALL

HOW DO I HELP?

One in every two children suffers chronic malnutrition

Source: ENSMI 2018

Chronic malnutrition is a condition suffered by infants who did not receive adequate nutrition during the first two years of their life.

Sadly, after two years of age, chronic malnutrition´s consequences are irreversible.

What effects does chronic malnutrition
have on children?

Low birth weight

Low growth rate

High incidence
of disease

Impact on Learning Ability

A malnourished brain cannot develop fully nor does it develop sufficient neural connections.

The effect is long lasting as it affects not one but several generations of Guatemalans.

We are working to
prevent chronic malnutrition
in Guatemala.
